hair  is a protein filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis, or skin. Hair is one of the defining characteristics of mammals. Milk, cheese, yogurt, chicken, eggs, salmon, spinach, broccoli, bell peppers, cabbage, parsley, grapefruit, avocado are some things you can try.

Smoking and alcohol are bad for your hair. Indulging in these increase the free radicals present in the body. These cause hair loss, premature greying. So if you are serious about your hair care, stop these vices.

These remedies have been passed down through generations and are known to work. 
Oil massages


 Oils such as castor oil, sweet almond oil, argan oil increases the blood circulation in your scalp leading to formation of new hair follicles and strengthening old ones. These oils have a high amount of Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega 6 and 9 beneficial fatty acids. Castor oil’s unusually high ricinoleic acid ratio makes it beneficial to scalp and hair. Argan oil is called a miracle oil since it fights all scalp related issues. You can add essential oils such as Rosemary, Lavender & Cedarwood. These oils dilate the blood vessels improving the blood circulation, thereby providing more nutrition to the follicles and preventing hair loss

Horseradish– 


It contains volatile oils, notably mustard oil, which has antibacterial properties due to the presence of allyl isothiocyanate. It increase blood flow to the skin and prevents hair loss. It helps to regenerate the hair roots by improving circulation to the scalp thereby preventing premature hair loss. The plant also contains average 79.31 mg of vitamin C per 100 g of the plant. Vitamin C is important for the synthesis of collagen which is essential for hair growth. It is mixed with vinegar and applied to the scalp.

Lemons

beetroot is a vegetable that can be juiced in a juicer or simply run in a blender and then pressed through a strainer. It is packed with protein, carotenoids, vitamins B and C, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and silica. To facilitate hair growth, drink beetroot juice regularly.  Fish oils 


fish oils are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. They promote smooth, shiny and healthy hair growth. A deficiency of these fatty acids impedes hair growth. Take fish oil supplements daily for at least a month.


coconut milk 


 Massage your scalp with coconut milk, leave it on for at least half an hour and then wash it out with lukewarm water. Do this two to four times a month. Coconut milk contains vitamins B, C, and E, as well as calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, selenium, and numerous other nutrients. It nourishes your hair, promotes hair growth, and prevents hair loss.

  Apply a hair mask once or twice a week. You can use a mask made of honey, eggs and curd. To get over the smell of eggs you can add a couple of drops of lavender oil to the mix. This mask is rich in nutrients essential for hair health.


Saw palmetto –


 It is rich in fatty acids, flavonoids, phytosterols and has high molecular weight polysaccharides. This contributes to its anti-inflammatory properties. DHT is known to contribute to both male & female pattern baldness because it binds to scalp follicle receptors, causing them to shrink, causing increased hair fall. Saw Palmetto blocks the testosterone in the body from combining with an enzyme called type ll alpha reductase to form DHT.
